Petition to Netflix for “13 Reasons Why”

Netflix’s new series, 13 Reasons Why, opened up the doors to change the conversation around depression and suicide. We created a petition to request that Netflix add the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number before or after each episode of the series, and share #BeThe1To resources that educate the public about ways that they can make a positive impact on someone who may be suicidal. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s #BeThe1To provides action steps to promote awareness and help individuals learn about suicide prevention techniques. We believe the series grants the opportunity to express these action steps and convey to the show’s audiences the importance of suicide awareness and prevention.
