The Ripple Effect of Giving Back
This November, as we celebrate gratitude and the power of connection, we’re shining a light on our longstanding partner, Pilot|RB. Their story beautifully embodies the ripple effect and reciprocity of giving back.
Pilot|RB, now entering a new era with NFP (An Aon Company), has been a part of the Vibrant community since 2018, helping shape how we care for our employees through benefits. Last year, they became our inaugural Giving Tuesday sponsor, matching donations made on the day up to $15,000 to help expand the reach of Vibrant’s programs. It’s a partnership rooted in shared purpose.
“What a pleasure it is for our team to work with Vibrant,” said Ben Senders, Senior Vice President at NFP. “It’s been remarkable to see where Vibrant has been over the past seven years.”
Founded in 1961, Pilot|RB worked alongside nonprofits since its earliest days in the group insurance industry. As a part of NFP, they will continue with that strong commitment. For Ben and his brother, Josh Senders, also a Senior Vice President at NFP, giving back is woven into their family’s legacy.
“Our father, who was in the business years and years ago, was the one who instilled in us the importance of working with nonprofits,” Ben reflected. “We’re such a small piece of the puzzle in an organization’s overall goals, but anything we can do to help lessen the load or make an employee’s life easier … it’s always been a part of our DNA. And I would attribute that to our father.”
That value of care flows reciprocally—from father to sons, from sons to Vibrant, from Vibrant to its employees, and from employees to people seeking support nationwide. It’s a living example of how acts of compassion can ripple outward, connecting people in meaningful and fulfilling ways across the country.
For Ben and Josh, working with Vibrant reinforces that sense of mutual purpose.
“From talking to people on our team, everyone is touched by some mental health issue within their family or group of friends,” Josh added. “To look at an organization like Vibrant that’s doing so much to help so many people, I think it connects what we’re doing in some way. If we’re solving a billing issue that might not feel very meaningful, we are reminded that it is because it’s working for such an important cause.”
Throughout the years, the Senders brothers have watched Vibrant’s growth firsthand. “The expansion and evolution of Vibrant, hands down, has just been amazing,” said Ben. “Watching the growth of Vibrant from when it was Mental Health Association of New York City to becoming Vibrant Emotional Health… I think the work you do is so essential.”
Ben highlighted accessibility, impact, and commitment to service in the face of stigma as our distinguishing strengths.
“To me, [Vibrant] really sticks out because of its reach around the country. With what’s going on in mental health, in today’s world, I think these services are extremely important.”
Vibrant is grateful to Pilot|RB, and now NFP, for years of partnership, mutual support, and a shared commitment to emotional wellness as a core component of well-being.
This Giving Tuesday, they are once again matching donations to Vibrant up to $15,000, helping extend the reach of peer support and ensure that more people can find connection and support when they need it.
Make a gift in honor of someone who has supported you—whether an inspirational family member, a compassionate mentor, or an influential friend. Your gift helps others find that same strength and support through Vibrant’s peer support programs.
